Doug McDermott moves up the scoring ladder, as Creighton upends Butler

Poor Butler.

On the same day that claimed games involving SMU at Rutgers and Louisville at Temple due to the snow piling up in the Northeast, Doug McDermott lit up the Hinkle Fieldhouse in a performance rarely seen in that legendary building–Bobby Plump notwithstanding.

McDermott finished with 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting in Creighton’s hard fought 68-63 win.  He is currently 15th all-time in the NCAA Division One men’s basketball career scoring list, with 2,824 points.  Thursday night saw McDermott passing Allan Houston and Kevin Bradshaw.  A few games later, look out Larry Legend from Sycamore Country down in Indiana State.

Bigger games after the traditional love fest known as Valentine’s Day come Saturday.

Sure hope the guys did something nice for the sweeties, whether virtual or not.  I hope to have some results to talk about either late on Saturday night or sometime on Sunday.  Pray for those people affected along Tobacco Road, it looks like both Duke and North Carolina’s people aren’t going anywhere big for a while.
