Big heap of tournament action will wall-to-wall coverage on Thursday

Besides a few tournaments continuing, namely in the America East and Ohio Valley Conferences, these four tournaments tip off with full action at these sites:

Metro American Athletic Conference

All games at Times Union Center in Albany, New York and can be seen online at MAAC TV,

5 p.m. Eastern

9 Niagara vs. 8 Siena

Winner plays top seed Iona at noon Eastern on Saturday (ESPN3).

7 p.m. 10 Fairfield vs. 7 St. Peter’s

Winner plays 2 seed Rider at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (ESPN3).

9:30 p.m. 11 Marist vs. 6 Quinnipiac

Winner plays 3 seed Manhattan at 8 p.m. Saturday (ESPN3).

Missouri Valley Conference (aka “Arch Madness”)

All games at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Every game to be carried by Fox Sports Midwest, and regionally by Comcast SportsNet Chicago (the final game on March 8 to air on CBS at 2 p.m. Eastern time).  Key stats and news can be found at

Thursday action:

7:05 p.m. 8 Missouri State vs. 9 Southern Illinois

Winner plays top seed Wichita State at 1 p.m. Eastern on Friday.

9:30 p.m. 7 Drake vs. 10 Bradley

Winner plays 2 seed Northern Iowa at 7 p.m. Eastern on Friday.

The remaining Friday games:

3:30 p.m. 4 Illinois State vs. 5 Evansville

9:30 p.m. 3 Indiana State vs. 6 Loyola-Chicago

The Northeast Conference got underway on Wednesday night, with one thrilling game involving Sacred Heart lasting two overtimes.  That tournament resumes on Saturday on MSG Plus and Fox College Sports Atlantic.

The other big game in major college sports will take place on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time as Illinois battles Purdue at Mackey Arena/Keady Court on BTN.

That should hopefully settle the final grouping of at-large bids.
