The initial craziness of Turkey Week began on Monday, November 23 when Indiana lost.

Shortly after Kansas dumped Vanderbilt to claim the Maui Jim Invitational title, Wichita State lost for the second straight game to USC.  Gonzaga also lost and Notre Dame lost to Monmouth.  The interesting tidbit about the Fighting Irish defeat was that Monmouth lost their first 23 games when they played against schools ranked in the Top 25.

But the bigger headline was saved for Black Friday

The longtime Michigan State coach is only one of eight men to reach the 500 victory milestone.  It happened on Friday night during a quarterfinal match at the DIRECTV Wooden Legacy on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.  Thanks largely to the efforts again of Denzel Valentine, the Spartans cruised to the championship on Sunday night.

But not to be outdone in the upset department:

Northeastern upset Miami (Florida) with a jumper at the buzzer.  It was the school’s ranked victory since 1986.

And we bring you back to Thursday with this small piece of news…

There is a growing possibility that the Ivy League will finally join the Big Ten and every other conference in the country in holding a post-season tournament.  Sensing how much money each of those proud institutions of higher learning could get with the likes of CBS Sports Network, NBCSN, or ESPN carrying those games would make for some interesting games come March 2017.
