Grayson Allen was hitting threes and nearly suffered a traumatic injury with 13 minutes remaining.  After Louisville turned over the ball, Allen was caught in a rugby scrum and the left elbow of a Louisville player nearly snapped back Allen’s head to the court.

Pretending as if blood was coming out of his face, he walked away and all that resulted was a technical foul.  The technical sent Louisville on a defensive run where Duke turned over the ball often and led to the Cardinals outscoring the Blue Devils 30-12 en route to a 71-64 win.

Another crushing blow happened early Saturday afternoon at UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio.  Coming off a big-time loss to LaSalle, the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure reached deep down on the defensive end and forced Dayton to many bad shots.  Free throws iced the game in a stunning 79-72 upset.  Jaylen Adams led the way with 31 points.

Back later, depending on the outcome of the Butler/Villanova game on Fox and the Baylor/Texas intrastate rivalry game in Austin on ESPN.
