UPSET ALERT: Baylor loses for second straight year in First Round

Found on many compilation albums everywhere.

CBS really got their money’s worth today.

Yale almost squandered a 13 point lead before allowing Baylor two chances to at least tie the game.  In the final seconds, a sloppy turnover in the paint along with a couple of missed shots allowed Yale the chance to seal the game at the free throw line.

The final score was 79-75, as Yale wins its’ first ever NCAA Tournament game in four tries.  Outside of the two 9 seeds in Butler and UConn advancing, the higher seeds mostly prevailed–although Duke had a very big scare until the waning minutes in the earlier contest at Providence before making the big plays inside the paint to outlast a determined group of Seahawks from UNC Wilmington.

Purdue is in a rough and tumble affair in Denver against Arkansas-Little Rock and Kansas appears to have victory well in hand against Austin Peay.

Unless another major upset occurs, I will blog again around the stroke of midnight signifying the end of yet another St. Patrick’s Day.  Enjoy your evening!
