Fighting Illini sweep season series against in-state rival
Sure hope Northwestern does not draw Illinois come the Big Ten Tournament in New York. Illinois used spurts of 8 points in the first half and broke the game open with a 12 point outburst at the beginning of the second half to win going away 66-50. Bryant Mcintosh led the charge scoring 18 points.
The nice sight to see for Northwestern fans is that Scottie Lindsay is back after his recent bout with mono. He had the only basket for the Wildcats in the last ten minutes, drilling a three pointer with one minute remaining on the State Farm Center clock.
Hopefully, NU will get back on track having lost four of their last six games. But they still have three more chances to set a new school record for victories in a season, as most bracketologists have them straddling the 7/8 seed line come Selection Sunday.
Three games that could determine the top four seed lines are tonight
Out of the 30 games on the docket for Wednesday, ESPN has Duke at Syracuse at 7 p.m., followed by Louisville at North Carolina at 9. Over on FS1 at 9 p.m. Eastern, Butler tries to make a statement against the defending champions in Villanova.
Those games should give us a final indication, barring any major collapse going into the ACC and Big East Tournaments on who the top four seeds will be.
I will try my best to give my thoughts on those games and maybe do a podcast discussing briefly those three games on Thursday. Hope to see you all then.
